I think breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. If there is one thing that I have learned since switching my blog’s focus toward food, it’s that I love breakfast, and honestly, the more simple the meal, the better. Sure, I love oats with lots of toppings, but most often, I crave a simple bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and butter, or a dollop of peanut butter. This holds true through most seasons, though it does change – and frequently.
My current favorite breakfast is fitting of spring-time weather, even thought it is currently 35 degrees outside (Fahrenheit).
Frosted, shredded wheat in cold organic milk topped with some slivered almonds. the cereal gets a bit soggy in the milk, but I like it that way. The almonds add some healthy fats and crunch to counter-balance things when the cereal gets soggy.
It’s simple, yes, but delicious, refreshing, and filling.
